KINTO Increases Hire Car Fleet by more than 50%
Car hire company KINTO has increased its fleet as it prepares for a surge of bookings from Australian holidaymakers.
KINTO has increased its fleet by 52% in the last three months with new hire car locations established across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, and the number of cars boosted in popular holiday hotspots.
“We are already seeing a surge of short term rental bookings for busy holiday periods so we’re encouraging people to plan in advance,” says KINTO General Manager Mark Ramsay.
“We already have bookings until June next year in popular holiday locations like Cairns, the Gold Coast and Tasmania,” he says.
“If you’re thinking about hiring a vehicle for Christmas my advice would be to get in early.”
Recent research from travel site Wotif shows 44% of Australians are planning to travel within Australia for their 2022 holidays with Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane the most popular pick up points for car hire.
KINTO now has one of the widest offerings of short-term car rentals in Australia, with a range of new Toyota vehicles for hire for as little as an hour to as long as a year. Users pay a flat fee calculated on the hire length and a per kilometre fee based on the distance they travel, which includes insurance (subject to excess), roadside assistance and fuel.
KINTO hire cars are all booked through an app - the entire process is digital. From selecting the vehicle, submitting paperwork, collecting the car and driving away.
“We’re seeing a lot of interest in our larger vehicles around the holiday period. Our most popular models this time of the year are Toyota RAV4s and Klugers – they’re popular with families and also large groups,” says Mr Ramsay.
“I think travellers are drawn to KINTO because of our pricing model. We have the same fixed pricing structure consistent across the country and we don’t operate on demand based pricing. You can book now and know you’ll have the same price when you travel.”
“It’s easier for holidaymakers to plan and budget when they know they’re getting consistent pricing and they can choose the specific vehicle that suits their needs,” he says.
“KINTO users can also cancel their booking up until 2 hours beforehand without paying any cancellation fees,” he adds.
KINTO currently operates out of 79 dealer and 11 non-dealer locations across Australia with its fleet being expanded each month.
18 new dealership locations have been established since July and 3 new street locations to service high demand areas.
New locations include the Barossa Valley in South Australia, Launceston in Tasmania and Maitland in the NSW Hunter Valley.
The KINTO fleet has also expanded in QLD to include a new location at the Rhapsody Resort in Surfers Paradise.
Tips to find an affordable hire car over the holidays:
- Book early: Don’t rely on being able to get a last minute deal
- Shop around: There can be huge differences in rates. Check what’s included in the price.
- Rent the right car: Make sure the car suits the conditions you’re driving to. If you’re covering long distances ensure you’re hiring a car that’s suitable.
- Read the fine print: Know what’s covered with your insurance and what you’ll be up for if something goes wrong - this is where surprise costs often come in.
- Look for flexibility: Can you extend the hire date if needed? Is the actual hire process easy or will you be waiting in long queues to rent your vehicle.
